Marchelle and Paul Burnham have been hosting a ceramic retreat on
the west coast for 9 years now! It is a wonderful weekend full of learning and having fun with friends that enjoy doing
ceramics and glass. We have the Retreat the last weekend of March! This year's dates are March 27-29, 2015.
The location of the Retreat has been choosen so that you get away from
everything and can just have a great time learning and creating. We have the Retreat at Camp Yamhill just outside of Newberg,
OR. We are up in the beautiful mountains and on the bank of the Yamhill River. Everything is provided for you! All
you need to bring is your brushes, clothes, and bedding. Your bedroom is just down the hall from the class room. We have wonderful
home cooked meals in a very nice rustic lodge. The walk over to the lodge is across the river and through the woods.
If walking isn't a good thing, you can also drive! There is a really pretty pond just outside the windows of the building
we have class in and the scenery is wonderful. Weather is always interesting! By having it on the weekend we do, you never
know what the weather might do! One minute snow, the next sunshine, and don't blink it is raining. That's what makes the weekend
great because we are inside just painting like crazy!
that are choosen for the weekend are always interesting! We bring in quest teachers to help with the creativity for the weekend!
Sara Cantlon from Dallas, TX will be with us again this year. She always brings wonderful creativity to the experience
and she has years of knowledge to help us create and grow in the ceramic world!
Projects that are being taught at this Retreat are created for this weekend! We always have a variety of techniques
to teach so that we have something for everyone! This year we will be doing Airbrushing, Brushstrokes, Appli-Kates, Glass
Fusing, and always Raku! You will go home with at least 6-8 projects and usually a lot more! We always try
to find new things to share with you on this weekend. We also try to have new things available for you to take home
so you can continue to create after the weekend is over and you are full of all kinds of new ideas!
This event has been growing every since we started it and we are hoping that it continues
to grow. The ceramic industry needs fun places for people to spend the weekend just creating, painting, and connecting with
people you love to do ceramics!
For an extra added bonus
the day before Retreat starts we can take you on a tour of Bullseye Glass! Anyone that wants to go on the tour can come in
to Portland, OR, stay the night before, Wednesday night, and go on the tour with us on Thursday morning. In the afternoon
we then go to a local glass shop and see what is new and fun in the Glass World. We have a motel in the Clackamas area that
is always glad to see us and gives us a nice rate for our group. We stay there on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Then head
out to Camp Yamhill Friday morning. So if you are interested in participating in this with us just let us know so we can save
you a room and have you on the list for the glass tour!
for this great weekend is $395.00! A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 holds your spot!
To get a registration application contact us and we will email you one!
So check your calendars and see if you can join us for a great creative weekend! We would love
